Health in Action: A Glimpse into the Free Medical Camp at Rajsamand

At Sneh Fertility & Urology Centre, we believe that quality healthcare should reach everywhere and to everyone, and not just those living near hospitals or in big cities. That belief took us to Rajsamand, a small town about 60 kilometers from Udaipur, where a Free Medical Camp is organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad in Rajsamand for people who often go without basic checkups. With medical kits, diagnostic tools, and a committed team, a set up to offer not just treatment but support, education, and a space where every question about health mattered. Each camp conducted reminds us why this work is essential, because good health should never be out of reach.

Addressing Rural Healthcare Gaps in Rajsamand

Over the last few years, more and more patients from villages around Rajsamand have been traveling to Udaipur even for the most basic checkups. Unfortunately, many of them skip care altogether because of travel costs or fear of hospitals.

This time, instead of waiting for them to come to the city, Bharat Vikas Parishad Rajsamand, in collaboration with PMCH Udaipur, decided to take healthcare to them. That’s the entire vision behind organizing a free medical camp in Rajsamand: to go where people are and without asking anything in return. With the help of the local panchayat, school teachers, and a local NGO, the camp was set up in a school compound that was open, shaded, and easy to reach.

Setting Up the Camp: Not Just Medicines, But Trust

The response to the camp was immediate and overwhelming. People from nearby villages arrived steadily, many traveling long distances on foot. What stood out was that most visitors weren’t seeking help for just one issue; they simply needed a safe space to talk to a doctor.

The camp was thoughtfully organized into separate sections for general health checkups, specialized medical consultations, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, as well as various health education sessions. For many attendees, the real value was not just in receiving medicine but in being listened to. Questions that had gone unanswered for years, like “Is this pain serious?” or “Should I be worried about this symptom?” were finally addressed with empathy and clarity.

Men's Health and Urology: Addressing Long-Neglected Concerns

One of the most impactful sections of the camp was dedicated to men’s health and urological care. Many men came forward with concerns they had never discussed with a doctor before—issues ranging from urinary problems to reproductive health concerns that had been causing them distress for months or even years.

Dr. Kshitiz Ranka from Sneh Fertility & Urology Centre attended the camp and personally consulted numerous male patients. With compassion and professionalism, he addressed their long-standing urological concerns, offering not only treatment but also education about men’s health issues. His expertise in urology and andrology made a significant difference in building trust and comfort among the male attendees.

Many men received consultations for conditions such as:

  • Urinary tract infections and bladder issues
  • Kidney stone concerns and prevention
  • Prostate health queries
  • Male reproductive health concerns
  • General urological discomfort they had been ignoring

This is exactly where a Free Medical Camp in Rajsamand creates real impact. By providing a safe, judgment-free space for men to speak openly about health issues they often consider taboo and receive the specialized care they’ve long needed but never had access to.

Comprehensive Healthcare for All

While Dr. Kshitiz Ranka focused on men’s health and urological care, the camp also featured other medical specialists who addressed various health needs of the community. Women’s health consultations were handled by qualified gynecologists and female healthcare providers, ensuring that every member of the community received appropriate care from the right medical professionals.

The camp’s multi-specialty approach ensured that families could receive comprehensive healthcare under one roof, with each specialist focusing on their area of expertise.

Small Things That Made a Big Impact

Our approach at the camp went beyond simply handing out prescriptions. We took time to explain how and when to take medications, when to return for further tests, and what steps to follow if symptoms reappeared. For many attendees, it was the first time someone had carefully recorded their blood pressure or blood sugar levels.

Dr. Kshitiz Ranka spent considerable time educating male patients about preventive urological care, explaining warning signs they should watch for, and providing guidance on maintaining good urological health. Simple advice about hydration, hygiene, and when to seek medical help proved invaluable for many men who had been suffering in silence.

Health education sessions were conducted using simple, relatable language, avoiding technical terms that might confuse the rural audience. For many, even this basic health information was entirely new.

Children received multivitamins and deworming tablets to support their growth and immunity. Senior citizens were offered free screenings for blood pressure and diabetes, which were crucial in identifying hidden health issues.

As Dr. Kshitiz Ranka beautifully put it: “We’re not just here to treat; we’re here to educate and empower people to take charge of their health.”

These small actions, delivered with empathy and care, made a big difference in how people understood and approached their health.

Real Stories That Show the Need

A middle-aged farmer visited Dr. Kshitiz Ranka’s consultation area with complaints of frequent urination and discomfort that had been troubling him for months. He had been avoiding treatment due to embarrassment and the distance to the nearest hospital. After a thorough examination and discussion, Dr. Kshitiz Ranka diagnosed a treatable urinary tract condition and provided both immediate medication and long-term guidance. The farmer left with not just medicine, but also the knowledge and confidence to seek help when needed.

Another young man in his twenties approached the camp with concerns about reproductive health that he had never felt comfortable discussing with anyone. Dr. Ranka’s compassionate approach and expertise in andrology helped address his concerns and provided him with the guidance he desperately needed.

These are just examples of what we see when people finally get access to proper, specialized care. When healthcare reaches them, their health and lives can change for the better.

The Bigger Picture

The Free Medical Camp organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad Rajsamand, in partnership with PMCH Udaipur, was not just a one-day event—it was a reminder of what’s possible when healthcare meets compassion. It bridged the gap between need and access, brought trust where fear existed, and planted seeds for healthier futures—one village at a time.

In just one day, the camp touched over 240 lives through basic checkups, specialized consultations, health education, kind conversations, and simply the feeling that their health matters too.

This Free Medical Camp in Rajsamand, though it lasted only six hours, planted a seed for many people that asking for help is okay, and that doctors are not just for emergencies.

What We Learned

More than anything, we learned that people are ready. They want support. They want answers, especially men who often neglect their health due to social stigma or embarrassment.

All they need is for someone to show up, speak their language, and treat them with empathy and respect. Dr. Kshitiz Ranka’s presence demonstrated how specialist care, when delivered with compassion, can break down barriers and encourage people to prioritize their health.

It reminded us why we do this work—not just to run a clinic in Udaipur, but to be a part of the broader public health story.

Looking Ahead

Inspired by the success of this camp, planning for the next Free Medical Camp in Rajsamand is already underway. Bharat Vikas Parishad is collaborating with more village leaders and schools to identify areas where specialized medical care could make a meaningful difference.

Dr. Kshitiz Ranka and the team at Sneh Fertility & Urology Centre are committed to continuing this outreach, particularly focusing on men’s health awareness and urological care in rural areas where such specialized services are rarely available.

Our collective goal is simple: To bring medical care to the people who need it most, and make it affordable, approachable, and continuous.

If you’re reading this and know a village or community that needs this kind of support, connect with us. Let’s make healthcare truly accessible, one camp at a time.
